“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 2)” ends the “Twilight” franchise just as messy as ever

The Twilight Saga is over. After four books, five movies and lots of romantic anguish, the vampire soap opera “Twilight” will finally take its place next to “Harry Potter” on the shelf of popular books turned into major movie franchises. But while “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 2)” is certainly a huge improvement over the first “Twilight” movie, and an indication of how far the series has come, that doesn’t mean the film should be praised or set at any high standard. Watching the movie is like watching a trashy reality show, or any awful B-movie—it may be awful in retrospect, but it sure is entertaining while being watched in the moment.

The acting skills of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, unfortunately, have not improved at all since 2008.  Their empty glances and dull stares have been perfected over time, but any…
